Federal Pacific T48LH2Y-300 Transformer
Federal Pacific ventilated dry-type transformers incorporates wire and or strip wound coils in a barrel wound configuration. The vertical and horizontal spacers are positioned in the windings to brace the winging layers and allow for the best ventilation. The steel electrical grade core is constructed to accommodate the coils.
A grounded, flexible conductor is installed between the coil, core assembly and transformer enclosure. 600kBA units are made with neoprene isolating pads while the larger units have three layer rubber and cork pads. The coil and core assembly is attached to the enclosure through a vibration dampening system to reduce noise levels.
Wiring compartments are accessible through the front and are approved for 90°C cable. Terminals are properly sized to run the full current capacity of the transformers. Federal Pacific Enclosures are braced and the covers are fastened with slotted hex screws to be easily removed if need be. There are rugged mounting feet opened outward to handle with a forklift.
